Massage Therapist

Hello my name is Katy and I am a licensed massage therapist living in SC. I am originally from San Diego, but I grew up in Charleston, South Carolina. I became a massage therapist in 2005 because I have always been interested in how I can best help those around me, and I also wanted a career that I could travel with and meet interesting people.

I am a Licensed Massage therapist and have Master’s in Acupuncture and Oriental Medicine. I find the combination of Eastern and Western philosophy to be extremely beneficial in the treatment of most clients. I am proficient in Swedish, deep tissue, craniosacral therapy, reflexology, trigger point therapy, and tui-na.

Having grown up in an artsy Southern town, music has played an extremely important role in my life. I enjoy everything from bluegrass to metal and am always interested to hear new bands that I have not been exposed to.

I am very athletic and surf competitively around the country. Surfing has given me very strong hands as well as an acute understanding of pain throughout the body. I have been told that I have a very special and aware touch. Massage therapy has given me the opportunity to make a living doing what I love and to learn first hand while I further my education in an accompanying field. I am thrilled that Dr. Dot has allowed me the chance to work with some of the greatest musicians on the planet.

I am extremely grateful for this opportunity and I look forward to working with you when you come to SC.
