Yoga TherapistKristen began her practice in 2009 when a serious health scare compelled her to begin making more mindful and healthy lifestyle choices. Her relationship with yoga was not exactly "love at first sight".
After attending her first class, she was left feeling intimidated and confused, with a slightly bruised ego. But she was determined to view these yoga classes as a challenge and she refused to write yoga off as something that wasn't for her.
Her practice grew with each class she attended and the purpose of the practice became more and more clear. For Kristen, yoga started out as an acquaintance but it quickly became her friend and eventually became her passion. It is because of this that Kristen strives to present yoga in the most approachable and down-to-earth fashion.
In early 2012, Kristen made the decision to take a leap of faith. She left behind her full-time job. Although it provided her with financial stability, it left her feeling as though she lacked true purpose. She enrolled in a teacher training course at Always at Aum Yoga School in West Babylon, New York and developed an attitude of gratitude as she felt her true purpose being fulfilled.
She graduated and is a Registered Yoga Teacher with Yoga Alliance. She is well aware that the best teachers are lifelong learners, and she continues to take every opportunity to learn, grow, and advance in her practice and teaching skills.
She recently became certified as a Level 2 Reiki Practitioner and is currently studying sports specific yoga as she works toward receiving her Power Yoga for Sports Certification.
Kristen is a lighthearted and resilient person with a calming presence. Her loving heart is contagious, and her enthusiasm and approachable nature are conveyed through her teaching style. Her love of music is also evident in her carefully constructed yoga playlists. Kristen has developed a strong following of students because of her creative sequencing, relaxed attitude, and calming voice. Kristen believes that small acts of kindness cause a ripple effect and she aspires to spread love and compassion on a daily basis.
Yoga has taught her how to love, honor, accept, and respect herself which, in turn, has made it easy for her to love, honor, accept and respect others.
