Massage TherapistI am a therapist and healer dedicated to being a life-long learner in order to build my skills in order to best serve my family, clients, and community. I have been a licensed practicing massage therapist for over 14 years starting my career in Houston, TX though I gave my first foot massage when I was around 3 years old.
During my first years of massage I also gained placement in a competitive program for physical therapy assistant in order to expand my core knowledge of kinesiology, anatomy and physiology needed to be an adept deep tissue rehabilitation focused therapist. Around this time I also started my commitment to volunteering giving time regularly to non-profits providing advocacy and support for women and children. While in Texas I mostly worked in large health clubs with a focus on deep tissue, trigger point, myo-fascial release, and professional athletes.
Throughout this experience my thirst for knowledge led me to finish my undergraduate degree in public health education which led me to Oregon. Once I moved to Oregon I began cultivating more Eastern/ Energy techniques gaining my level 1 Reiki, studying Zen Shiatsu, Acupressure, and Qigong.
This addition greatly expanded my ability to promote positive outcomes in my clients and helped fully round out my current style of practice. While completing my degree at Portland State University I started my work in the Spa world. This experience really helped me hone all types of sensory modalities and environmental changes that best promote not only the best massage experience possible but that carry on your results for hours if not days longer.
This is also where I learned to use hot stones for massage as well as learning the art and science of making my own body scrubs, masks, lotions, and therapeutic salts. All of our senses must be nurtured in order to promote maximum relaxation and renewal.
I am currently completing my graduate degree in occupational therapy which allows me a greater perspective on healthy habits and routines to best facilitate healthy long term outcomes. Over the last 14 years my sense of humor, strong work ethic and dedication to best serving my diverse clientele has helped me to build a successful sustainable practice.
I have also taken classes and built skills in pre-natal massage, massage for labor and delivery, aromatherapy, as well as reflexology. I enjoy bringing relaxation and balance to my client’s lives while helping them build sustainable holistic health practices.
Throughout my career I have maintained the highest level of discretion and confidentiality providing not only great massages but also peace of mind. I look forward to sharing my special style of massage with you in the future.
