Massage TherapistCarl LMT
Myofascial Release Therapist
Carl was born in South Africa and grew up in England before moving to the United States.
Carl first experienced John F. Barnes Myofascial Release (MFR) as a patient seeking treatment for chronic back and pelvic pain from years of playing rugby and practicing martial arts.
His healing experience with this work were so profound that he changed careers and completed the 730-hour program at the Sarasota School of Massage Therapy with the intention of learning MFR and offering the techniques and principles to patients who also experience chronic pain and other physical and emotional issues.
To date, Carl has completed 250+ hours of specialized MFR training and continues to take and repeat classes.
Carl says "the power in MFR therapy lies in the considerate nature of touch: rather than attempting to force movement within a closed system the therapist works with the individual to treat fascia through a collaborative hold-and-release process. This process can be incredibly powerful for people of all ages with a variety of backgrounds and challenges."
Carl has a BEng in Materials Science & Engineering and a BA (major) in Psychology. He spends much of his free time in nature and his interests include ninjutsu, psychology, spirituality, philosophy and yoga. He lives with his family in GA.
