Massage Therapist
Nivea graduated from the Watauga Community College as a Massage Therapist in July 2003, and has been practicing it as a part time job ever since.
In addition to her 500-hour certificate from WCC, Nivea also has a Bachelor’s degree in Teaching English as a Foreign Language from the University of Panama, in her home country Panama. She also has a Master’s degree in Education majoring in TESOL from the university of Wollongong Australia, and a Master’s degree in Spanish from UNCW, North Carolina.
Her educational backgrounds complement her style of massage therapy marvelously, and her clients appreciate her firm, strong touch, her intuition, and her massage competence. Nivea uses her communication skills to gain the best understanding of what her client’s needs are, in order to assure that those needs are met, because she believes that massage therapy is an interactive process between the therapist and the client.
Nivea offers a great combination of therapeutic and treatment massage techniques where she applies all her massage skills such as: foot reflexology, Swedish massage, hot stone massage, and craniosacral therapy level I technique. She uses her intuition and education to provide her clients with the most effective treatments she can. The integration of these modalities create a special healing and nurturing bodywork session
Outside of massage therapy, Nivea has a passion for the outdoors and spends the warmer months kayaking, hiking, walking or biking. She loves living in North Carolina and appreciates all the beauty and diversity that the state has to offer.
